Making a Purchase
Goods are subject to availability and may vary from those advertised.  You must decide before ordering if the goods are suitable for your needs.

Browse the store and add items you wish to buy to your shopping cart.

Once you are happy with your order proceed to checkout where you will be able to checkout as a guest or register as a customer.  *Registering as a customer will enable you to save your address details for future orders to make the checkout process quicker (however no card details are stored whatsoever).

You will be able to review your order and amend or cancel it as necessary before your payment goes through to the payment gateway for payment to be taken.

If you are shopping from outside of the United Kingdom, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency at the current exchange rate.  *Please note that giving the wrong country information may result is incorrect shipping charges being applied to your order. We reserve the right to retain your order pending any additional payment required if you give the wrong delivery information when placing your order.

Alternatively, you can call our warehouse and place an order over the phone.  If the team are busy and you leave a voicemail with your requirements, they will call you back to finalise the order with you.

Once an order has been placed, providing a valid email address was specified at the time of placing the order, you will receive a confirmation email advising you that your order has been received.  Please note that this email is merely an acknowledgement that your order has been received by us. Orders can only be classed as accepted by us once they have been dispatched. In the unlikely event that your order contained items that were incorrectly priced by us, we reserve the right to adjust your order when it is received by us and we will notify you of this prior to the order being adjusted and the mistake identified.

Orders placed cannot normally be amended as once received they are passed to our warehouse for process and dispatch, however if you contact us within 24 hours of placing your order, we will be happy to see if anything possible can be done, depending on what stage your order is at.

If you are unsure about any aspect of the ordering process or do not receive a confirmation email regarding your order, please feel free to contact our team to check the details.

Pricing
All advertised prices on our website are inclusive of VAT, but exclusive of delivery and packaging costs.  There will be an additional charge for delivery and packaging on orders within the United Kingdom under our free delivery threshold (which is currently set at £35).

Our website will automatically calculate postage costs based on the weight of the items being shipped and deduct postage if the order placed within the United Kingdom is over the free delivery threshold.

Orders outside the United Kingdom will display charges in GBP£ including full postage costs that apply providing the correct Country has been linked to the order.  *Please note that giving the wrong country information may result is incorrect shipping charges being applied to your order. We reserve the right to retain your order pending any additional payment required if you give the wrong delivery information when placing your order.  Conversion from GBP£ into other currencies will be made via the bank on the day that the order and transaction takes place.  For an estimate of GBP£ charges into other foreign currencies we suggest using a currency converter such as www.xe.com.

Discontinued Items
Items that have been discontinued either by ourselves or our suppliers are marked with a (D).  These items are in limited supply and, if they are yarn, may be made up from mixed dye lots.  If there is a large variation in dye lot amongst the items that you have ordered we will contact you to let you know and give you the choice to cancel this element from your order, otherwise please note that mixed dye lots from Discontinued yarns will be dispatched at our discretion.

Delivery and Back Orders
Items ordered from our website will be delivered as soon as possible.  Every effort is made to ensure that delivery is within a maximum of 7 working days (working days being Monday to Friday and excluding bank holidays and national holidays).

All goods are subject to availability at the time of receiving your order. In the event that we are unable to supply your goods in a timely fashion, we will inform you immediately and advise you of the expected delivery date.

All orders are dispatched via Royal Mail to United Kingdom addresses and by Airmail to overseas addresses. In rare cases extremely large or heavy parcels may be dispatched via Courier service if this is more cost effective than Royal Mail.  On occasion different items from the same order may be delivered separately but this is at the discretion of A Woolly Tail Ltd.

If your item is not in stock, we will order the item for you directly from the manufacturer. This means that there may be a slight delay in getting your order to you. We will contact you via the telephone or email address given on your order if this applies to your order or items on your order.

We cannot take any responsibility when an incorrect email address or telephone number is given and in this instance we have no choice but to wait for you to contact us.  It is important therefore that you ensure you supply us with a valid e-mail address and day time phone number when placing your order in the event that we should need to contact you.

Should you wish to collect your items, you are welcome to do so, providing that prior arrangements have been made.

Please notify us in advance if you have any special delivery requirements, although we cannot be held responsible for the rules and regulations of Royal Mail or other carriers.

We cannot accept any responsibility if the items supplied are damaged once they have been dispatched from our company address.  If nobody is available at the delivery address to accept the goods, no liability can be accepted.  In this situation, the order will normally be returned to us by Royal Mail, but we will be unable to refund the delivery cost paid by the customer.  If re-delivery costs are paid, we will be able to re-send the order.

Please note that Royal Mail does not class United Kingdom post as missing until 23 working days from the date of dispatch.  This period rises to 30 working days from the date of dispatch for orders outside of the United Kingdom.

Please allow at least 10 working days for delivery before contacting us to chase your order.

Overseas Customers – Additional Information
Our website is intended for use by customers resident in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland (United Kingdom). We can, in our sole discretion, accept orders from individuals located outside the United Kingdom and dispatch overseas subject to the additional postage costs being paid by the customer.

If we agree to supply any Goods ordered via our website for delivery outside the United Kingdom, a valid customs label will be attached to the package and they may be subject to import duties and/or additional taxes or expenses incurred due to complying with foreign regulatory requirements or laws.  The customer will be responsible for the payment of such duties and/or taxes.  Please note that we have no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount.  Overseas customers wishing to make a purchase from our website should contact their local customs office or taxation authority for further information on this aspect before placing an order with us.

Please note that when sending products internationally, customers should be aware that cross-border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities.  Please also note that customers should comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the country for which the Goods are destined.  We will not be liable for any breach by you of any such laws.

Delivery Charges
If an order is under our free delivery threshold (which is currently set at £35), our website will automatically calculate postage based on the weight of the items being shipped.  If the value of the items ordered is over the free delivery threshold (currently set at £35) then free standard class postage and packaging applies to parcels sent within the United Kingdom.  Normal charges apply to all overseas parcels and no discounts are offered. Item weights are calculated on the weight of the package - this should not be confused with the weight of the wools (shown as part of the details for wool items) as this is based on the minimum weight of the contents excluding any packaging. The total weight of a purchase (including any packaging) and the delivery charge applicable is shown at checkout prior to any payment being made. You must decide before confirming your order if the items, terms and costs are suitable for your needs.

Our current delivery charges within the United Kingdom, Europe and Non EU (Rest of World) can be viewed in the section on our website marked ‘Postage Charges’.  The customer is responsible for choosing the correct postage zone at the time of placing their order.  *Please note that giving the wrong country information may result is incorrect shipping charges being applied to your order. We reserve the right to retain your order pending any additional payment required if you give the wrong delivery information when placing your order.

Credit Card Security and Cookies
For almost any modern website to work properly, it needs to collect certain basic information on its users. To do this, a site will create files known as cookies – which are small text files – on its users’ computers. These cookies are designed to allow the website to recognise its users on subsequent visits, or to authorise other designated websites to recognise these users for a particular purpose.

Cookies do a lot of different jobs which make your experience of the Internet much smoother and more interactive. For instance, they are used to remember your preferences on sites you visit often, to remember your user ID and the contents of your shopping baskets, and to help you navigate between pages more efficiently. They also help ensure that the advertisements that you see online are more relevant to you and your interests. Much, though not all, of the data that they collect is anonymous, though some of it is designed to detect browsing patterns and approximate geographical location to improve user experience.  Information collected by cookies is not personally identifiable.

Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart and to store delivery details.  We believe that your experience of the site would be adversely affected if you opted out of the cookies we use but you can turn off cookies within your browser by going to 'Tools | Internet Options | Privacy' (in Internet Explorer) and selecting to block cookies. If you turn off cookies, you will be unable to place orders or benefit from the other features that use cookies.

With the information the customer supplies, we use our customers’ names, addresses and payment details for the purpose of completing transactions. Our secure payment system is powered by Secure Trading in conjunction with Lloyds TSB Cardnet, which ensures that customers’ card and personal details are encrypted before they are sent across the internet - this means that unauthorised parties cannot see them.  When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they have been processed and come back to our computer and are not held in clear text on any website.  As the payment is handled by Secure Trading in conjunction with Lloyds TSB CardNet, we do not handle or store these details on our own servers at any point.
